Fun Facts about 301 Darts
One of the most common dart games is the 301 game. This game is common both casually in the pubs and in the tournament games. All players start with 301 points and attempt to reach zero. If a player scores more than the total required to reach zero, the player "busts" and the score returns to the score that was existing at the start of the turn. When a player reaches zero, the game is over. In a non-team setting the player that first reach zero is the winner. The winning team is the team with the lowest combined score (both team members). If the game score ends in a tie, the player/team that reaches zero wins.
The 3 Arrows in Dart
In dart, each player has 3 arrows, which he may all throw before the opponent's turn. At the start of a game, each player has 301 or 501 points. Teams start with 701 or 1001 points per team. After each 3 throws, the points earned will be deducted from the score. The aim of the game is to get the score down to zero. If a player scores more than the remaining number of points with his last arrow, the round is considered lost and will not be counted for the player. Since most games are played with the additional rule of “double-out”, meaning the last dart must therefore hit a field in which the score is counted twice, even rounds with a residual value of 1 point are counted as lost.
