What is March Mayhem
March Mayhem is actually just another way to say March Madness, and it is also the title of a very free web browser game. According to History.com the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament is a single-elimination tournament played each spring in the United States, currently featuring 68 college basketball teams from the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, to determine the national championship. The tournament was created in 1939 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and was the idea of Ohio State University coach Harold Olsen. Only eight teams competed in the first NCAA tournament. UCLA has won 11 NCAA men's basketball championships, the most of any school. This tournament has over the years provided lots of unforgettable moments, too many mention on our website.

According to FoxSports.com the oldest coach to win a title was Jim Calhoun in 2011 at the age of 68. The title of the youngest coach belongs to Emmett McCracken who led Indiana to the championship in 1940 at the age of 31. Glen Rice (pictured) holds the record for most points in a single tournament with 184 during Michigan's 1989 run, and Duke's Christian Laettner holds the career record with 407 points in 23 games. The record for most overtimes in a single game is four, and it happened twice, once in 1956 and again in 1961. Three individuals have won an NCAA championship as a player and as a coach: Joe B. Hall as a player and coach of Kentucky, Bob Knight as a player with Ohio State and coach of Indiana, and Dean Smith as a player at Kansas and coach at North Carolina.
